THE DRAGON

'The Dragon'

Sail in Asia's  Platu, The Dragon, is a fast yacht which is in good condition and sports a decent set of new Absolute One design Sails.  The yacht has had a recent refit and is now repainted and looks superb.   The vessel has a brand new rig and much new deck equipment not to mention a new Tohatsu 5hp engine.

The Platu class is very popular in Thailand, with almost twenty yachts sailing in Phuket and Pattaya. Sail in Asia currently has seven Platus for charter. Despite her modest size The Dragon promises to deliver exciting racing in every regatta. The IRC is almost the same as a 37ft yacht like the Farr 1104. The Dragon is now in great condition  Dragon competed in the new WRSTY Regatta in Krabi and was skippered and crewed by a Pattaya crew who sailed the boat extremely well. Dragon performed and won the regatta. David Iszatts remarked on how well she pointed with her new rig.

Our Platus are really very competitively priced and  are relatively inexpensive to charter. They are a great regatta entry level boat and handle really well in almost all conditions. This year they are available for most regattas and are considered to be fun boats even for beginners!

Our One Design Fleet of yachts are all equally well matched, with similar equipment, great condition and almost new sails. The skill in winning rests only with the helm and crew so we hope your winning boat goes only as fast as the other Platus. The most skilled and best teamwork usually results in success.
