ABSOLUTE ONE DESIGN

‘Absolute One Design’

The Platu Absolute One Design is a fast yacht which is ideal for the smaller crew, and, with a favourable IRC rating.  The Platu class is very popular in Thailand and Malaysia, Hong Kong and Singapore with almost twenty yachts sailing in Phuket and Pattaya. Sail in Asia currently has six Platus for charter for phuket Kings cup and Phuket Race Week.  Despite her modest size The Absolute One Design promises to deliver exciting racing in every regatta. Platus are unlike most yachts in that they require a crew who notice healing, sail trim, wind changes and of course who can handle a spinnaker well. What you put into your sailing you get out of the Platu. With One design Fleets the best sailors should win as all boats are very much equal.

The Absolute One Design has controlled sails and this means everyone has the same brand age and useage of sail. We use training sails for everything we do other than Regattas. We bring out the stored regatta sails for events like Kings Cup. Hence we have controlled useage and NO COMPLAINTS about faster boats etc   The yacht suits a crew size of 4, 5 or 6 persons. Platus are relatively inexpensive to charter and are a great regatta entry level boat. This year the boats are priced at 20% less than last year to encourage the growth and popularity of the boats at King's Cup.
