Yon Bay's Race course is perhaps Phuket's best area to run a regatta.  The bay is scenic and generally the best place in Phuket for winds regardless of direction of wind or season. It is also a superb place to set out windward leeward courses and round the island racing too. The One Design Regatta is perfect for this location and crews will only have to go out half a mile or so to get to the race start line.

The anchorage is soft mud with great holding and visitors will find no problem leaving their boat securely moored if their ground tackle is sufficient and well bedded in.  The beach area of Ao Yon is a delight with no reefs, mud or coral and is almost always flat water or small waves that lap the shore.  Check out our Ao Yon Bay video and see for yourself.
